WATERBABY I DON'T WANT TO SING I DON'T WANT TO LOOK

Featuring on super-cool South London-based label SLOW DANCE's Slow Dance'19 compilation, experimental sister duo Waterbaby have shared their beguiling new audio-visual track 'I don't want to sing I don't want to look'. Motivated by a desire to reject external influences that inhibit an artist's true sense of creativity, the honestly-titled offering is an avant-garde exploration of such feelings. Beginning with a labyrinth of synth work, sparkling ascending sequences and fluttering electronic elements interact above a bottom end of dramatic piano bass notes. Incorporating more singing and more recognisable lyrics along the way 'I don't want to sing I don't want to look' is artistic an uncompromising. As with all Waterbaby pieces, the track arrives alongside some equally intriguing visuals. Feeling more like a hallucination than a music video, sisters Martha and Jessica Kilpatrick appear lit in their favoured pink and blue hues, rippling and intertwining their images perfectly in time with the music.
